Coffee Filter Bow

I came up with this idea by using a coffee filter.  I tried it with a piece of toilet paper, but the designs bled right through.  So instead, I used a coffee filter.

Supplies:

• Stickers
• Dot Paints
• Coffee Filter
• Marker
• Scissors
• String
• Hair clip (not shown)

1.  Flatten the coffee filter out

2.  Draw a circle in the middle

3.  Cut the circle out

 4.  Now you have a circle

5.  Use the dot paints to make designs on it (note from Mom:  put a magazine or something under the filter so the paint doesn't bleed on your table!)

 6.  You have a designed circle

7.  Fold it like an accordion

8.  Pinch it in the middle

9.  Twist it where you pinched it

10.  Cut a string a few inches long

11.  Tie the string around the middle and trim the ends

12.  Put the clip in the middle

13.  Put your sticker on it

 14.  You have made a coffee filter bow!

Napkin Ring

I saw this craft when I was looking at kid's craft videos, and it said to use wrapping paper; instead, I used a napkin.  So I made it with a napkin!

Supplies:

• Scissors
• Tape
• Stickers
• Napkin or Paper Towel

1.  Fold the napkin down into a strip

2.  Twist the strip

 

3.  Make a loop

4.  Make sure it fits on your finger

5.  Cut the ends off

6.  Tape the ends together  

7.  Put a sticker on it

8.  You have made a napkin ring!

Napkin Snail

I came up with this craft after I ate a pear yesterday.  I like to play with my napkin, so I played with my napkin, and I told my mom, "Doesn't this look like a snail shell?"  And she said, "Yes!"  So I made a snail out of it!  Here's how you can make one, too.

 

Supplies:

• Scissors
• Napkin or paper towel
• Embroidery floss or string for antennas
• Pipe Cleaner
• Tape (not shown)

1.  Roll the paper towel or napkin

 
2.  After it is rolled, then twist it

3.  Roll your twist into a snail shell

4.  Tape the shell closed

5.  Cut about a 3 inch section of a pipe cleaner for the snail's body

 

6.  Bend the pipe cleaner around the shell, and attach it with tape

7.  Cut 2 pieces of string for the antennas

 

8.  Tie them together and trim if you need to

9.  Tape the antennas to the snail.  You've made a napkin snail!
